WhatsApp Unveils an Exciting Redesign for Android: New Colours and Icons on the Horizon

WhatsApp, the renowned chat service, is currently in the process of revamping the chat interface on its Android application. This massive update is set to include a refreshing change in some colors and the app's overall aesthetics. This adjustment will also significantly affect the app's appearance in dark mode. Moreover, not just the colors but some of the icons and buttons in the app are being refreshed with new colors. Interestingly, a similar set of updates is being prepared for the iOS version of WhatsApp.

The revamped interface was first noticed by WABetaInfo, a reliable feature tracker, in the 2.23.20.10 version of WhatsApp beta for Android. While the redesigned interface is still under development by the chat platform owned by Meta, it presents an exciting prospect for users. However, downloading the latest version of the app won't allow you to experience the new interface just yet as it's still in the development phase.

One significant change is the introduction of a redesigned camera icon on the main chat screen. Furthermore, the solid icons for video call, voice call, and camera inside individual and group chats will be replaced with outlines of the older ones. WABetaInfo has also provided screenshots to give us a sneak peek of these new icons in both the light and dark modes.

In terms of colors, a new, brighter green shade is being introduced in the app. This new color will be applied across both the dark and light modes, including the floating action button at the bottom right corner of the screen and the WhatsApp text at the top of the app. This change deviates from the usual tone of green that WhatsApp is known for.

To conclude, these exciting changes are not limited to the Android version of the app; similar icon and color palette changes were also noticed on WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.19.1.72. Both the iOS and Android versions are likely to get chat filters like All, Unread, Contacts, and Groups. However, there's no confirmed date for when we can expect these chat filters or the redesigned colors and icons to be rolled out. This redesign is a clear indication that WhatsApp is committed to improving user experience by regularly updating its interface and features.
