Hades 2 Surpasses Original in Early Access with More Content and Expanded Features

Hades 2 has surprise-launched into Early Access, boasting more "environments, adversaries, and characters with complete vocal performances" at this stage than were present in the entirety of its predecessor. This sequel already surpasses the original game in terms of content volume right from the get-go.

The progression from a preliminary version to a sequel typically carries the expectation of expanded content. Yet, the fact that Hades 2 has outdone its predecessor immediately upon its Early Access release is noteworthy. According to a FAQ found on the Hades 2 Steam page, the game already includes more varied settings, opponents, and characters with full voice acting than the original Hades at its completion. However, the game is still in an unfinished state, with significant additions anticipated across various elements including narrative and gameplay systems.

Future updates for Hades 2, as per an outlined roadmap, promise additional weapons, areas, and options for personalizing the hub area. There seems to be a lot more content on the horizon for players as the game advances towards its full version release.

While there's no definitive timeline for when the Hades 2 will reach version 1.0, Supergiant anticipates the Early Access phase will continue "at least through the end of 2024" to incorporate all planned content. An initial major update is already in development, though it is expected to require several months to complete.

"Hades 2 has completely captivated me," states GR+ news editor Ali Jones. "Its mechanical grip on me through its addictive gameplay loop and mythological fervor makes it hard to focus on anything else, with a desire to challenge Chronos time and again."
